Understanding Special Needs
This initiative is for children with special needs and their families living in or around Marbella. 'Special needs' encompasses a wide range of developmental, physical, cognitive, and emotional conditions that require additional support, therapy, or adapted environments.

Parenting a child with special needs can feel isolating — especially in an international city far from your home country and support network. This club exists to remind every family: you are not alone.
Why This Club Exists
Marbella is home to a growing international community, and while therapeutic services do exist, there is a significant gap when it comes to community-based support:

- No dedicated shared daycare groups for children with special needs
- No organised support groups for parents
- No regular, structured meet-up spaces

Our Four Initiatives
🌱 Shared Daycare Group
A Calm, Supportive Space for Neurodivergent Children
A gentle, structured daytime group for children who need more than traditional daycare can offer.

Meet-Ups for Kids with Special Needs
We organise structured, supervised shared sessions for children with special needs in a safe and adapted environment. These are not traditional 'play dates' — we understand that many children may not engage in typical reciprocal play, and that is completely okay.
Goal: Provide regular, predictable social environments for children with special needs — reducing isolation and allowing parents to share childcare in a trusted setting.
A Space for You
The Oxygen Mask Principle
On every aeroplane, you are asked to put on your own oxygen mask first — before helping others. To be the parent your child needs, you must first take care of yourself.
Parenting a child with special needs is one of the most rewarding — and demanding — roles a person can take on. Burnout, isolation, grief, and anxiety are common experiences. This initiative creates a dedicated space where parents can be honest, be heard, and be supported.
Marbella Family Gatherings
We regularly organise community meet-ups for children with special needs and their families across Marbella — carefully planned to be inclusive, safe, and relaxed. No expectations, no pressure.
Want to organise a meet-up? Any group member can propose a location, activity, or theme — we'll coordinate and share it with the whole community.
